About Me
Translating the Science of Health and Nutrition into Engaging Content
Kimberly Lord Stewart began her career in food and health writing in 1996 as a journalist in Colorado, when healthy eating was seen as a passing trend. Now, thirty years later, the impact of diet on our health is undeniable. Many of our health issues are related to what we eat or choose not to eat.
Stewart has been fortunate to have a front-row seat to observe the evolving knowledge and understanding of food and integrative health. As a journalist, the author of "Eating Between the Lines," and co-founder of Today's Practitioner, she draws on her experience to create a unique blend of critical thinking skills and creative insight. This enables her to evaluate scientific information and translate complex concepts into easily understandable language.
Even the youngest cooks and healthy eaters enjoy her work. For the past decade, Stewart has developed children’s culinary nutrition programs for a 5th-grade Denver elementary school class, YMCA garden and cooking programs in Colorado for grades 1-6, and the Institute for Natural Medicine’s award-winning Naturally Well video education program for grades 3-5.
She likes to be involved in big projects – white papers, reports, ebooks/books, article series, and video curriculum and production. Publishers, physicians, non-profits, and health and food companies value her ability to sift through research and distill it into compelling content that informs and engages the reader. Her background as a caterer, food critic, and recipe developer adds culinary skills to her work as a food and health journalist.
Whomever the audience, consumers or food and health professionals, Stewart is dedicated and passionate about providing high-quality, accessible content on nutrition, integrative health, and wellness.
